painting intake manifold on m20

Hey guys, im thinking about painting the inlet manifold on my m20 and im just wondering what kind of paint do i need to get in order to do it properly without it flaking off etc

Most automotive paint works, and then use a laquer over the top.

It doesn't need to be heat resisitant paint, it gets just as hot as all the other paintwork under the bonnet and thats all still body coloured I assume?

The flaking you mention would only happen if it were poorly prepped or subject to ultra high temps.

Make sure you really clean it down to nice aluminium and use an acid etch primer before normal automotive paint. This adheres the paint to the ally really well so wont flake off later.

I cleaned mine with thinners and sprayed it silver with an aerosol left over from the Daimler wheels.
