Retrofit OBC

G'day,
Have read E30adam's useful tech article on the retrofit of OBC unit and had a couple of additional questions to anyone who can help.
1. Will the 13 button unit work with a 84 323i jetronic fuel injection car
2. Is the inidcator stalk control useful and/or essential
I have lined up a full used unit with wiring, sensors, ding, horn, etc but am baulking at the AUS$200 price unless I am totally sure it will be successful.
Any help / advice would be greatly appreciated

13 button OBC was available on 323i's so i guess will work. The indicator stalk just lets you scroll through the various functions so is handy but not essential.

I've fitted it to an '87 320i with L-Jet with no problems.. Though I've still not got around to setting the fuel tank settings yet..
And the indicator stalk isn't essential. Just looks cool
