if its the splined socket try the dealers or a mate that has the same locking ones there are not many combinations i have a set on my cab and when i bought a set of ebay the splined nut was the same ...i later aquired a spare of a late 330i which was also the same and fitted

sounds like an aftermarket one. pop down to an accessory shop and see if they have something similar.

yep. of course it will be unlikely but cheaper and easier than getting someone to do it for you.

but take the easiest route first before you attack with hammer etc.

better idea  go to a local alloy wheel specialist and see what they have

I don't know what else you can do besides weld something onto locking wheel nut to undo or hammer something into it to get a purchase.

This happened me before when i got a blown out tyre.... :(
A hammer and a socket set, bruit force is the only way to go, you'll make shit of the socket though!!!

The key you mention sounds like it may have come from halfords. there's a big new one in canterbury opposite pc world. I'd try that first. Is it a flower shape with a round peg in the middle?

Socket will be circa 18mm i suspect.
Give it a good whack on there and a smooth action on the wrench.
Be prepared to fight to get the bolt out of the socket on all four occasions should you be succesful :)
