rear view mirror with map lights...........

Hi there y'all can anybod help i have bought a mirror with lights think it out of a 325 for my 320 tourer stupidly i thought that there would be a plug or somethin there for the mirror to plug straight into but i was wrong :oops: does anybody know how i can connect the mirror up so that the lights work do i have to cut wires and connect it to them or do i have to run all new wires (hopefully i aint gotta do this) any help would be much appreciated peeps :D

hi there me again im havin a bit of a prob with this mirror i have followed the instructions 'Widge' posted for me ( cheers for that mate ) and have wired it up so that i have to turn the ignition on to use the map lights but when i turn the ignition on the lights light up and cant be switched off by the switches only by turning the ignition back off its really starting to p!55 me off now as i have gone through about 6-7 fuses trying different wire combo's :banghead: i bet it something simple that i am missing anybody have any ideas

If they don't turn on and off with the switches then the wiring in the mirror must be wrong. If you got them off ebay are you sure the guy before you didn't have a fiddle with them?

I did get it from E-bay yes i have had a go at changing wires but no joy still not switching off not sure if the guy has messed about with the inside but he must have opened it up because some of the tabs that hold the front on are snaped off also the plug was cut off so i had to solder wires onto it as a matter of interest do you or anybody know which of the 2 wires (black/white) is positive and negative can't remember which one i used now will have to check

He probably had it wired so that it came on with the interior lights.
If you unclip one of the interior lights and the inspection panel for the sunroof motor, you can fish wires around to the mirror lights from the interior light. They won't get caught up in the roof mechanism.

If i cant get them to turn on and off with the switches i will do that
