One of my old 325's i sold to my mate a few years back has got a problem :?

Its used daily but only local mileage, his wife used it for work this morning and came home at dinner time, they went to use later on and it didn't start

Its got a spark, he took a plug out he said, plenty of fuel in it, sounds like fuel starvation he reckons. Can fuel pumps just go like that, any way of checking it ??

Any idea's ??????

Oh its auto btw......no towing

Instead of posting this in "E30 Chat" you could try the tech help section.
You'll certainly get more answers.

My fuel pump went on me just like that, no warning what so ever.. You're lucky it stopped working at home, mine stopped in the middle of town.

Have you tried jumping the fuel pump relay to see if the pump is indeed working?

How do you jump the fuel pump relay ?

I'm going round to his house later to have a look, i have a 318 tourer, will the relay work on the 325, just a thought to see if it was the relay.
I dont fancy stripping the sport down.

Thanks for the feedback 8)

Remove relay and link the sockets for pins 30 and 87 of the relay with a piece of wire - this will give power to the pump.
