Installed this on my iS not too long ago, but had a broken stalk at the time.

After getting a new stalk and putting it in, it still won't work.
I think I have all the connections right, since I was only taking it out of a breaker and transfering into my car beside it.

Is there anything else that could be different like the instrument cluster or something?

My trottle cable may be a small bit slack but thought it should at least do something as it is...

Usual problem with cruise controls is the clutch or brake switches, assuming it's all wired correctly.

Ah, It's the brake switch is my problem!

It's not cutting out at the moment since it must be adjusted abit so the pedal can press it properly.
Since I didn't have to put this switch in when fitting, I hadn't thought of it :o:

A great help as always Brian. :P

There's a single wire that connects the cruise to the auto shift lever. Simply don't connect this wire, and it will be fine in a manual.

:x

It wasn't the brake pedal switch. Switch pressed and it still won't hold a speed :(

I'll have to check the clutch switch tomoro to rule that out next.

You need a clutch switch to do the job "properly". Only difference if you don't fit one, is that the cruise won't disengage when you press the clutch, like it does when you press the brakes.

having a missing clutch switch makes for interesting gear changes, lol.

Best way to fit that clutch switch is have the instrument cluster out. Then sit in the seat and look down through the dash with your two hands free to put on the switch while your foot keeps the clutch pedal out of the way.

From Zimmerbimmer1 on here
There cheap enough from BMW.

Where it goes on will become apparent when you have it in your hand and you look down throught the dash as described.
It has a little dowel on it as well ast the hole for the 10mm bolt. This will fit into the bracket already there in the car above the clutch pedal. Just fit the dowel in place and tighten the bolt.
Then leave of the brake pedal tp ensure the switch is pressed by it when the clutch is engaged.

Hope that helps, as well as a free bump to my problem which is presisting still :(
