Hey,

i need help with M50 conversion. The engine is in, everything is like it should be but the engine wont start.

I used several different papers on how to connect E30 an E36 loom but nothing works. When i turn the key engine starts to spin, but it wont start (no spark on spark plugs). ECU is working, so is the fuel pump, i just cant figure out what i did wrong.

I anyone has an idea please help.

is there a good ground strap from engine to body ?

Have you checked that the spark plugs aint making a spark or are you guesing ?
Are you sure the engine is getting fuel (are the fuel lines connected right)

There is ground from engine to body. Fuel lines are OK. Just to be sure i connected fuel pump directly to battery, and it works ok.

Im not sure about spark tho. I checked sparks the old school way. I took the plug out and made contact with engine housing. There was no spark. But an hour ago i took the connector from coil pack and when i turn the key there is around 12V there.

I really dont know what could it be. The engine ran fine when i took it off. AFM is broken, but i dont think that could be a problem, since it should start without it. Spark plugs are also not the cleanest, but if it ran before i dont see why it wont run now.[/u]

Are the fuel supply and return lines the right way around?
If the injectors on an engine are injecting fuel, and the plugs are sparking, then it will usually do something when you turn it over, even if it is just backfire.
