basically mike brewer from wheeler dealers and the rest of them are a bunch of cowboys, a cone air filter will only work well with a proper heat shield as it will just suck in hot air from the engine and lose you power, they do give a nice noise though

A pod filter is an expensive way of reducing the power of an E30 engine!

so me having a k&n cone filter on my 320i is reducing my engine power

I'm sure that when he sold that car he said it had a 'full stainless steel exhaust fitted' when in fact it was a standard exhaust with chromed tail pipe fittings put on it.
Im sure all the questions asked by the buyer are scripted for the show or else if i was the guy buying it would have pulled him up about the none existing stainless steel exhaust and knocked even more money off it

I've got a Green cone filter and was gonna put it on at the weekend - is it not worth it?

Well (as some of you may have read) I've ad a bad day and decided to put the filter on. Sounds good, think it'll be alright? Fits well enough and ive cabletied it nice and tight pointing at the hole on the back of the headlight cover.
