Dont know if the fuel gauge worked properly before i did the swap as the car had no engine in it when i got it.
The gauge shows half full but the low fuel light is on.
When i put more fuel in it the gauge goes up and the light goes out and when the level drops to half the light comes back on.I have changed the sender unit but still have the fault/
Any ideas :?

sorry to be blunt nooster but thats incorrect.

The problem is with your fuel guage.

There are two different fuel guages (one for single sender tanks and the other for double sender tanks)

swap out the fuel guage with the correct part number and it will read empty when its empty.

First thing to do is look under the round inspection plate under the left side of the rear seat base, to see if there is a level sender there, or you have a tank without it.

In that case it almost certainly has the wrong gauge fitted.

There are people on here with the opposite problem, who would happily swap with you - if you can find them.
