I removed my 316i badge recently - don't know why! Anyway I used a new stanley knife blade to cut the foam sticky pad between badge and paint. You have to be very careful not to angle the blade into the paint, eventually the badge will give way with a bit of gentle twisting. I then used autoglym tar remover on a lint free cloth to remove excess adhesive/foam from the paintwork. Finally I used autoglym paint renovator and meguiars polish to bring the paint up to a finish matching the rest of the boot lid. Hope this helps.

I agree with darkchild. My laches 4 door 2.7 wears its 320i badge with pride.Upsets a lot of chavs as well...did think about fitting the 316i badge that came of the touring, but I felt that the twin exhaust pipes would give the game away...

Heat gun and fishing line is the tried and trusted method.
