ht lead positions???

hi all
ive got an 87 325i and i took my leads out of my distibuter and made a right hash of marking them up and now its all rubbed of and i dont no which number lead goes in which hole can anyone help?

if its in the same order as a 320i it should be 1-5-3-6-2-4.

Place the cap so that the holes are facing upwards and the inside of the cap is facing towards you.
Then, left to right: 2, 4, 6, king, 3, 1, 5.

is that the same firing order for a 320i, if it is mine is wrong.

320 and 325 have the same firing order.
2, 4, 6, king, 3, 1, 5 ! Just confirmed it on an engine.
If your 320 runs, then they must be on in this order. If they don't appear to be, then check the numbers on the leads at the plug ends as well.

mmm? ok ill give that a go, the firing order i got was from autodata. i take it the number one hole is the top one?? thanx

Rember that number one cylinder is the one closest to the cap too...

?? As the cap sits on the engine, number one is second from the bottom.
