325 stuck in reverse?

anyone got any idea as i bought this car and could work it out and head to tow it more then 6 mile with clutch down though i only need bits of it its a nice motor
anyone know why its stuck in reverse

he says in previous post he had to hold the clutch down so pretty safe to say its not an auto..

never had this problem with an e30 did have it with a mrc it turned out the rubbers on the linkage was gubbedbut i dont think it turns out to be the same on the e30 ive heard of it needing a box change

I had this problem on my car when i brought it!

The problem was the gearselector so you'll probs find it best just to get a new box! Makes it abit of a pain to get off the car tho!

thanks for that i dont mind as i only bought it for spares just kinda wondered what it could be as ive tried pulling it outta gear with engine off and on but no joy

Is the gearstick free to move? for some reason mine was! I took it off and tried to move the selector and compared it to a new box!
