Moderator: martauto
a few weeks ago i had a problem with my 2.7 running now its fine apart form now and then you put you foot down it splutters ie like its over fueling then cuts out i thought at first it was my m52 injectors but once it cuts out it does not start for a good while the other day i night i broke down my mate towed me back the next morning i checked a few things out and the fuel was not being pumpted i swopted the relay over no difference then after around 30mins of messing it worked again but same happend yesterday but within a minute it started again i checked what i thing is the fuel pump earth which is under the back seat but that seems fine anybody any ideas when you are cruising its fine but put your foot down and it sometimes cuts out and if it doesnt cut out it just splutters
have you tried changing the injectors back to standard? m52 injectors are designed for 24 valve engines, and have a different spray pattern to standard

yes i got a clifford concept 650 as for the injector no i have not put the other injectors in but i can see where you are coming from with the different injectors but that would not stop the pump from working would it
but it could be the cause of overfueling

Dont bother going back to original 325 injectors, i had the same problem and i changed my injectors so i change them back to the M3 injectors e36 and the problem was there so i thought F--K this, i compression checked, electrical check, changed AFM and finally put in spark plugs NGK specific ones and then the problems was gone, now i am as happy as a happy as a rubber duck in a bath full of water with a gay in it!!! (not gay BTW-Married)
If you feel you need to try changing the injectors for your own personal re-assurance then do it... otherwise like i says i done that and changed back to M50 injectors cos there newer and spray pattern is different..

i have had a very similar fault about 12 years ago with a 528i i had.
it turned out to be a bad connection in the fuel system wiring.
one minute the fuel was getting through the next minute it was'nt.
i replaced the fuel pump relay.
fault was still there.
i solved the problem by putting a live feed with a length of wire and a crocodile clip to one side of the fuel pump fuse.
i had to connect it every time i used the car.and then disconnect it again when i was'nt other wise the pump would keep going.
i sold the not long after that.

i think im going to keep the injectors in has its been runing ok for a good week with the m52s i think its wiring to th pump as diamond black said just been out and it a hard bump fuel pump cut out again took around 5 mins to start again i had to bump it in reverse about 6 times the harder i bumpted it would start then die again the all of a sudden the power was then once a gain mmm mmm
