How do you take off the chrome window surrounds?

Pull, its held on with clips but if you're planning on putting the same one back on (ie if you're painting it) be careful as it can bend and mis-shape very easily

Can you easily get a black alternative to the chrome? or is painting it the only option??

Well the friend surprisingly is not a he its a she .

She wants to replace it, I'm cheap so I'm gonna paint it.
