Hello all,
I am new to E30 ownership, as I've just aquired a 318is. However, I've occasionally been around this forum before, and have seen that there are a lot of people with great knowledge about these lovely cars, which is really nice to see.
My question is with regards to parts: where would you guys recommend me to buy parts for my car from?
Also, as far as I know, 318is E30s have different parts compared with most other E30s, such as different brakes and suspension, the 'checquered' seat cloth, etc. I've been browsing around some sites which sell parts for E30s, like eurocarparts, however noticed that the brakes that they sell for 318is cars are the same ones they sell for all other E30s; however, I thought they are meant to be different! So how do I know if a part that someone sells is a genuine 318is part, or just a 'regular' E30 part?
Thanks, any help is much appreciated!
Andy

If you want genuine, the best place to go would be the dealers. Wont be as cheap as ECP and GSF but you'll know that they're genuine BMW parts :D

I'd say the parts I harvest for the M3 are 50:50 ECP:BMW. Sometimes ECP get it wrong, sometimes ECP parts are just replacements, but sometimes they're obviously BMW parts with the roundel ground off.

Used spares, you can get from Linwar Motors or New from Cooksferry Engineering.

Hi, Thanks for all the info! There seems to be some options, which is always a good thing! Also thanks for the info on the brakes, that was new to me.
Also, does anyone know how I can get the price list for geniune BMW parts? I have seen the online catalogue, but they don't include prices!
Thanks again!

Hi there try us for genuine parts.

We are a BMW dealer based in the cotswolds and do a internet mail order service and
usually can beat the price of your local dealer.

visit the link below for a look

Thanks, have had a look at the site, and sent a message regarding parts I am interested in, although later received a message saying the email was delayed! Well, hope it will get there.
