Hey Folks,
My mother complained of a petrol smell after I filled up the other night, so I went to check, and sure enough there was a fair bit of fuel under the car.

Looks like whoever fitted the pipe before didnt do it properly, and it in now destroyed.

I've found the part I need to replace it:

No. 19

My questions are:
1. Will the black plastic insert (that goes between the pipe and the filler neck on the tank) come with this part? It's also damaged and really shouldnt be used again.
2. Where would be best to order this from?
3. The paint around there has flaked off, and exposed metal is left - should I remove the tank and respray it, or will i be ok whacking some hammerite on the bits that have been left exposed?

Cheers!
Mark

1/ What plastic part? There isn't one. Just a rubber hose (19) that links the ends of two steel pipes.
2/ BMW dealer.
3/ Paint it! This is where E30 fuel tanks rust out. Sure this isn't the problem?

1. There was a plastic insert between the pipe and the tank!
2. You dont live in Ireland, they're useless, but I'll give them a go.
3. Yeah I'm thinking I'll drop it out and give it a full respray. I'm pretty sure it's just the hose!

What part is this on the ETK (Realoem, or the updated one some one's found)?

BMW UK don't tolerate useless dealers; I would have thought the situation was similar in Ireland.
