Guys, i will have aquired a 4.10 lsd for my iS by next week winkeye

What the best diff oil to use in it? before I put it on...

It's not going straight on, as I want to put it on at the same time as dropping the new engine in there.

Book I have quotes: "SAE90 hypoid gear oil" that's for a 325i Sport with 3.91 LSD (I'm about to fit one myself, so I'm interested to see if anyone else recommends something different)
'89 325i - was an SE but not anymore, was bronze-beige metallic (yeuch!) but now techno-violet (thankfully)
'89 Toyota Corolla GTi-16 - track, hillclimb & sprint car (yeeha!)
'08 Buell XB12Ss - American engineering at it's 'best'... good fun though

Oils for standard (open) diffs:
BMW Synthetic OSP
Castrol SAF-XO

Oils for Limited Slip diffs:
BMW Synthetic MSP
Castrol SAF-XLS
[unknown brand] VS-700

( Note: There is a GM additive "Goodwrench Limited Slip Differential Additive "
#1052358, that is popular with some BMW Dealerships. It's cheap and
can fix some LSD noises when combined with standard gear oil. Ed. )

pal, BMW dealerships use Castrol SAF-XJ for the LSD's

if you go into a dealership, its about £15 a litre +VAT, but you cant buy it like that! they have to carry out the work for you to have the oil!!!

however, if you tell me if its a large case or a small case, I might just be able to help you out, if you know what i mean??? winkeye
