It's only good for dipped beam, they need to heat up for full effect and a flash would be poo with them.

danthe I mounted mine under the lights on the metal so it is all kept out the way looks pretty waterproof anyway tbh

The ones you've shown are different from the ones we're all going on about......they just say made in germany and the quality of the bulb packaging is much better then what you've shown.....there have been others that have decided to do Bosch ones as well now, but they are blatently fake....these ones probably are as well, but they are excellent value for money.....DanThe, I don't get any high pitched noice when I switch mine one, but I do get a lot of radio interference when I switch them on, so I can't listen to the radio with the lights on...but that may be down to the fuse I used to get the power....your fit does look very neat mate

Damn, can't believe i never clicked on this thread before. Back on page one, the link to the alpha ebay guy brings him up ok, but currently no HID Kits are available. But then i found this, it seems he has created a new account:

Link 1

Perhaps a UK account.

I also found these ones:

Link 2

But i'm guessing the general consensus is to stick to the bosch ones, fake or not.

At least you know what your getting I suppose.

Location is still US, maybe set up a UK account due to the amount of UK E30 owners buying from him :)

The lwoer the resistance the brighter the bilb chinchilla; so ideally you want the 4300k ones, higher resistance just means pretty, illegal colours.

think you can change you angel eye bulbs so that the rings will either look white or ice blue and also match with the hid lights

how much difference does it make to the light on the road through the standard head lights

i got angel eyes so they should be more brighter as the glass is clear

Can't find any details on standard 55W H1 lamps, but I would expect an output from them of around 1000 lumen.
The HIDs range from 2000 lumen for the boy racer ones to 3000 or so for the white ones, so the answer is "two to three times as bright", but note that for the human eye to perceive as twice as bright, it has to be four times as bright.

I went for the 6000k ones as well.....lights the road up just fine  ...4300k are definetly the brightest but I wanted the HIDs to have a slight blue tinge and the 6000k gives you that :P the guy did change his name to open a new UK account because of all the interest he was generating just in the UK 8O

I also have no radio interference with mine, but can here that buzzing sound although only when on idle and when im outside the car, not inside the car while im driving.

Luckily my headlights are aiming downwards enough not to blind oncoming people but i do need to get them aligned; Danthe, do you no what height the MOT states the beam must be?

No idea mate, its all set up using a 'box of tricks' placed in front of the headlamp.

Its more about the angle than the height.

i think so. Anyone expecting a straight direct 100% oem fit can dream on but they seem reliable enough and the loom is all there etc; im a nincompoop with electronics an i even i managed to fit them (just). I would say go for it dave

Well if you struggled, I'll probably fit them to the reverse lights in a fit of stupidity!

Will have to speak to one of my mates who is good with electrical stuff.

Park the car a few metres back from a wall, and mark spots on the wall dead level with the centre of the headlamps (laser level is useful for this), and directly in front of each light.
The lights should then be adjusted so that the angle in the beam pattern is slightly below and slightly to the left of the marked spots. If you reverse STRAIGHT from the wall the angle in the beam should move very slightly downwards and slightly left. Conversely, if you drive STRAIGHT towards the wall, the angle should move up and to the right, but must never cross the marked spots.
