I just cant get on with the high up go-kart style steering wheel position in my 325 :(

Does anyone else find this a problem, and has anyone moved the steering column/wheel lower down? The only way I can see of doing it is to cut the mounting bolts and fabricate some sort of adjustable mount to bring the column down an inch or two. Not too much of a problem if you're handy with a grinder / welder :)

Push the lever to recline the seat down and the whole seat will come up

Standard drivers seat was totally knackered, that's in the bin! I'm using my brother's M3 seat, which is probably the same. But even if I were to sit higher, I find I'm too close to the pedals, so moving the column down would mean I can sit further back aswell :)

Yeah i saw the seat in the guys pics it was proper fecked :)
I know what your saying about the column as i find the wheel a little high and forward as well but better than even older bm's which were even more 'sit-up and beg'.
Maybe releasing the clamp holding the column up and spacing it a little may help but you won't need much as it will make a bigger difference at the steering wheel end.

What steering wheel do you have on there? When I got my car, it had the crappy 4 spoke wagon wheel type, but I have fitted a tech-2 wheel now, and it isn't half as bad... you get used to it...

Yeah mine was! You could twist the grip right round the wheel! Get a tech-2 wheel mate, they make a hell of a difference... failing that, I got a tech-1 wheel for sale, which isn't any larger in diameter... see the link by my sig...
