Hi guys i won the above sport a week ago on ebay and i am due to pick her up this week while i am off work.
This was part of the add.

There are a few bits of rust creeping in but its not too bad for a car of this age,it has the usual wear on the drivers bolster but the rest of the interior is in good nick, getrag gear box whines a bit but its been like that since i bought it three years ago, they seldom fail.it has a small oil leak but its an easy repair for a d.i.y.er

Whats the score with the gear box whats worse case how much to replace etc.
Is the oil leak anything to worry about.
Should i drive her back home or get her transported.

Cheers

Gearboxes don't usually whine - that's the prerogative of the diff. Gearboxes usually clatter.
Neither is anything to worry about, assuming it's not drowning out the engine or turning peoples' heads as you pass.
A M20 engine without an oil leak (or several) is a rare beast indeed. Some are easily dealt with, others best ignored.
Don't see anything wrong with driving it home (legalities excepted), but make sure you have a tow rope, the front towing eye in the toolkit (and check it screws in), a mobile phone, and a mate on standby.
