does any one have the part no. for the T part that connects the selector rod of the gear stick to that of the gearbox just above the out put shaft of the gearbox. as my local bwm dont seem to know what I'm asking for!

Not much of a dealership that can't identify parts as common as those!
Part 14 has been modified from that on most E30s, and you will probably need a new part 11 to go with it.
