Hi Chaps,

Need a bit of advice,

Had my car booked in at a garage to do my alternator housing bolt as one had snapped off and needed a easy out tool.

Quite simpe really, take the bolt out and put a new one in.

Picked up the car a few days back and drove it home. The next morning went for a drive and after about 15 min, the battery light came on!

Then the car started to loose power. Now everytime i jump start the car it starts, and then dies after 5 min.

COULD the garage have done something to the alternator so it does not charge the battery or is it just chance that the alternator has now gone or battery finished?

Any response and advice will be appreciated

thanks

check the battery / alternator connections are tight, if you have a volt meter check the voltage at the battery when the engine is running, it could be the battery that has died, check the acid levels in the battery if accessible.
