Hi Guys,

In my quest to fix as many things as poss on our new 325i Cab, I have come across a problem with the light that indicates the position of the Automatic gear shift lever.

The bulb holder was there, but no bulb. Also there were no wires attached to the bulb holder. After some digging, I found a pair of wires with insulating tape around them.

The colours are:

Wire 1 - Brown
Wire 2 - Green & Black stripe.

Could someone do me a favour and check the colours on an auto for me before I remove the tape and wire up the new bulb. Wouldn't want to burn the loom...

Thanks,

Frank

simple way to check is.. do you get 12V accross these wires when the lights are on? if so use em.

Thanks for the reply. Trouble is, I can't know why they have been taped up.
I would be happier to use them if I knew they were the right ones, I'm trying to keep things fairly original to the car if I can. :)

My other thought is to tap into the feed to the electric window switch lights, these come on at all the same points as the shift light should.

Cheers anyway.
