New wheels

Hey all its been a while scince I was on here but after fitting new tyres found my wheels to be a tad buckled, so new wheels needed i want to go 16's deeeeeeeep dish, what is the standard offset and hole gap? They say things like et and that, not a clue what it all means, any help? Any pictures of deep dish 16's?

I think you mean "spigot".. its the hole in the middle of a wheel that sits on a little lip that centres the wheel. Not sure what size it is, but try typing spigot into the search.

I was wondering the same thing.
What is the maximum offset (ET) someone can do on lets say 16 inch wheels (on a lowered E30 318i) ?
The factory 15s are what offset ? I also like deep dish wheels but don't want to go over 16 inches.

The facory bbs rims are ET24. If you increase the ET you would then need to use spacers. E.g If you had say ET35 rims if you used 11mm spacers, this would then make ET24 which would sit correctly.

Its best to get close to ET24 as possible as thick spacers could cause problems i.e. needing longer bolts

That was stupid of me...
I was thinking "wider" so I really meant how LOW can we take the offset for lets say 7X16 wheels.
Would we encounter any rubbing on a lowered vehicle (35-40mm) ?
I would try to get the wheels where I want by ordering wheels with the correct offset (to put them where I want them), and not using spacers.

i'm runnin 2 x 16x7.5 and 2x 16x9 borbet A on my e30, sure they r et20 but a lot depends on how decked ur car is and wot tyres u put on the rims, i run 215/40 on the rears which pull the sidewalls right in but still managed to rub like fuck on my old suspension set up.

et24 4x100pdc cheers boys and girls. shouldnt matter what dish there are so long as they state they are et24 should it. Can you tell I have NEVER bought after market wheel before?

Well no, ET24 is the standard fitment for the bmw bbs rims. If you go wider or go with a dish you have to compensate the offset. Bigpimpin gave a web link which calculates everything you need to know.....scroll down to E30 and find your proposed wheel & tyre size. It then tells you the correct ET number. If for any reason you cant find that offset for the rims you want, you will have to find the closest and use spacers.

The pcd obviously doesnt change

also depends a lot on the shape of the spokes too

the ats cups on the Is wouldnt clear the front calipers or track rods till i stuck 5mm on but they are et20

also my azevs 16s had same prob spokes hit calipers
