Where are the best points under the e30 to place axle stands? May seem a bit of a daft question - but wasn't too happy with my choices last time I had the car up on stands.

On the front, under the chassis rail, I normally use something on the stand, a rear spring pad is a good idea, on the rear, I put it under the rear axle bush mount, though from what I gather it's not the best place to use!

If your sills aer good at the rear, then a stand with, as Simon says, a piece of hard rubber on top, placed under the sill at the jacking point is fine.

I've been forming a theory that using the axle bush mount as a jacking / stand point contributes to the likelihood of the bush cores breaking when you try to get them out!

I keep mine on a shelf, if they are under the car they are too hard to get to when you need them.
They also restrict the cars performance (That horrible sound they make)
