hi, how do i tell wether or not my 325 has a lsd?
is it jack one side up put it in neutral and if it doesnt spin its got a lsd?

Yep thats one way.
Or check th tag on th diff, number should start with "S".
Or get a spec sheet from BMW which will show if it left the factory with one, although this isn't garanteed I think it's unlikley somone would remove it and substitute an open diff.

Another way is to jack the car up under the diff (both wheels off the ground) and rotate one wheel. If the other wheel rotates in the same direction you have an LSD, if it rotates the opposite way you have an open diff.

Its possible to leave 2 black lines with an open diff so your way is fun but not accurate! :wink:

The way I understood it, was if it's an LSD you'll leave a nice pair of 11s and an open one leaves a pair of 33s!!!
