cool thanks mate i will diconnect the reverse light connections as the fuse is still blowing so will try this first also were is the resistor pack? ill check how to get to the heater motor on wiki

Assuming you don't have aircon., the resistor pack is on the LH side of the heater box, behind the glovebox RH access panel/front centre console. The bit you can see is brown and has several wires leading towards it.
