I'm trying to tighten the roof aerial on my red Touring as its a litle lose and wobbly and letting in a little of the damp stuff. I've taken the sunroof handle surround off and can see the black connector with aerail lead coming out. Tried holding it with grips and doing the nut up on the roof, just turns.
Give us a clue guys how the hell does it tighten up or how do you get the connector off??????

Sounds like it's corroded considerably, to the point where the thread is completely shot. You may need to find a suitable replacement as there's a chance some of the aerial will be beyond repair. You may have to cut the nut off.
'88 325i M20, could've done with a sunroof.
