321354324262 - that's an ebay id of an engine I want to buy.
Got a few Qs id like to ask you lads:
1) how much should I offer?
2) he says it's a stock 2.7 stroker and it has 2.7 stamped on the head. Is this true?
3) he's had the car 3 years and is breaking it due to a crash..
2.7 help

Not exactly a great add is it. No description of the build etc. 2.5 heads have 2.5 & 2.7 stamped on them so don't assume it's a 2.7 by that. You need to find out the build spec on it before you offer a price I think

99.99999999% sure that's just going to be a standard 2.5 M20. As Aza says, 2.5 heads all have 2.5 & 2.7 stamped on them.

Doesn't matter what's on the head; find out what's on the block (machined flat surface just above the sump, under the starter motor).
There's no such thing as a "2.7 sport motor", so the seller has no clue what he's got.

Doesn't matter what's on the head, doesn't matter what's on the block,as long as it has an 84mm bore and an 84mm stroke....
The best 2.7's have used a bored out 2 litre block,so what is stamped on the thing is almost meaningless.

True, but an engine number starting with 27 would at least indicate that it probably is a 2.7.daimlerman wrote:Doesn't matter what's on the head, doesn't matter what's on the block,as long as it has an 84mm bore and an 84mm stroke....
