Seperating Glass Headlights ? next to near impossible, tips

Alright guys, basc bought cheapie stick on angel eyes for my 4 pot e30, stript the headlights right down to the lenses. However there is no way i can seperate the glass for its holder, tryed sticking it in the oven, hairdryer etc. got one done but have more or less broke everything else of it doing so. Is there something am messing or any tips ? am sure its been done before. Many thanks

A heat gun, stanley knife, flat headed screwdriver and a shed load of perseverance!

It surprised me at how hot the glue needed to be to soften up enough.

Stick at it!
