Hi I'm looking for a workshop manual can't afford a bentley so it will have to be a haynes I've noticed there is a green one and a red one is there any difference? As I do have a late M40.

The bently is best and can be downloaded as an electronic version if you have a google.

I'll agree, Bentley's is definitely worth saving for. They're only £30ish

I have a brand new Bentley manual, no grubby finger prints, never been opened.

£30 posted :D

And yes, it is the best manual.

Bentley cover M10 and M20 engines.
They are very good with suspension,electrics and so on.

For good detail regarding M40 you need Haynes 1948...as well as Bentley.
Youth is wasted on the young.

I agree that the Bentley is well written, but for anyone with a RH drive M40 engined touring, there are some serious shortcomings! Haynes is much maligned on here, But it's still a very useful manual, which would have been much better if they hadn't tried to cover the E34 as well,

It's a great read and not only for technical info but to read about the E30 as a cult car 8)

Thanks for the reply's I'll be starting with the haynes as the M40 specific is of more intrest to me at the moment. Will put the other 2 on the book list to get.
