Just wondering if this is a good strategy for derusting and treating the inner arches. The worst of the back arches has rust and a couple of small holes so what I'm planning is:

To take the affected areas back to metal with the grinder/wire brush/elbow grease, weld where necessary, treat surface with jenolite, spray zinc rich primer, then a couple of coats of POR 15 brushed on.

That's a basic outline of what I plan to do for the inner arches and other out of sight areas infected areas (sills, floor pan, battery trey recess etc. Is this a good approach? Any tips would be welcomed, thanks.

hi it sounds like the way to go dont know what sought of welder you have but i would use a mig and not to much power or you will be chasing the hole all over the place if the metal is very thin you would do better to cut the hole larger and inlet a new piece of metal grind smooth if the area is bright steel you will not need the jenolite just fill and shape the filler spray primer wet and dry paper about 360 grit and soapy water rub down till smooth then top coat or base coat and clear if metallic should look fine when finnished hope this helps you good luck
