Fuel Additive ?
Moderator: martauto
10k Boost is the best one ive used, its about Ԛ£20 but you just spray it into the air filter intake. I used it on my S reg Astra with the Eco Tech engine, the car had a dead spot arount 4500rpm and the spray got rid of it.
I also use Nitrox 0-60 (I got a few tins cheap) which you add to the fuel tank.
You could try using BP ultima unleaded (the expensive stuff) as that has got cleaning agents in it and you will find that your MPG improves aswell.

That 10K boost stuff has exactly the same effect as pouring a load of brake fluid into the intake! I wouldn't touch that shit with a bargepole!
If you're dislodging huge chunks of crap that have accumulated in the combustion chamber and blowing them past the exhaust valves, some of them are gonna get stuck on the seats and that'll do your engine no good whatsoever!

Probably easiest to run through some Optimax or similar for the next few tanks - that might clean it anyway.
A few bursts of carb cleaner is another popular alternative.

Not personally a great believer in the ability to rebuild your engine from the inside with tiny Lead, Copper and Silver pellets myself. Probably good for generating mounds of sludge like when you leave a Humbrol Enamel tin of Metallic standing too long. Not great for the catalyst either.....

i'm usually not all for those fuel additives and stuff like that but I'm willing to give this one a go specially as mine has got a load of miles on it no doubt its lost its magic 170hp now, wouldnt be surprised if it was running under 160 now. Plus my MPG aint great either! Although its improved a little since using super unleaded though!

im not sure as to what products are available in England...but here in Sydney Super(Leaded) fuels have become difficult to get and as such any cars previously running on leaded must now use Premium unleaded with a lead additive to assist with valve lubrication...
i use a product called Lucas Lead Replacement...you add it with your fuel
as for achieving more Kilometres Per Litres and clean fuel lines (MPG for you oldies...lol), monthly use of premium unleaded will boost the car's overall "health" due to the slightly higher RON rating (98...Sydney's one is)

Ive used these products for the last 15 years with good results . Mainly using the engine flushes and diesel treatments. I would deffo recommend this stuff. It is trade only stuff , but you can get it off ebay or there is a link on their website to local dealers / garages
