help!!! stalling when on full lock.....

hi guys,
my e30 cab is running fine hot or cold but i am finding it is stalling when i turn the steering wheel...
it will idle fine but as i turn the wheel it starts to hunt, and when its at full lock the revs drop right down if im lucky i can blip the throttle and keep it running but more often than not it just cuts out(normally in a car park or busy junction)
any ideas??

To rule out the power steering pump I would disconnect the belt and see if the problem is still there. Don't drive the car like this but it will at least give you an idea.

A far fetched idea, just because this was similar on my Golf - if the steering bushes that prevent full lock going to far, are knackered, the PS might be getting worked too hard and stalling the engine?

Edit: Just seen the bit about revs dropping as you turn the wheel, mine do a bit but not much so perhaps my advice is a bit pants...?
