Hi,
Since buying my cab around 1-1/2 years ago the central locking and electric hood have never worked. Now that summer has arrived in N.I, I'm busting to get car working as it should. I have printed out the 20 page info from the wiki area and have the info on the reb/black wire problem. The issue is I'm not electrically minded and want someone to wave a magic wand and make it work. Hence leaving it in to a recommended auto spark. Should he be able to diagnose the problems without using any special tools as described in the wiki area? 26 Pin break out box and special adaptor etc. As much as I want to get it working I'd prefer not to pay telephone numbers. Any additional advice would be appreciated as I know my car is not the first to have electrical gremlins.

The central locking dosn't work and never has since I have owned the car.
The motors for the roof have been disabled allowing the roof to be manually operated. There dosn't seem to be any issues with the linkages etc.
I have the re-aligning info from the wiki pages and would just like to try and get it operating electrically as it should.
I don't however want to spend hundreds of pounds for someone to tell me it dosn't work so it would good to get some common vaults/solutions, or am I just wasting my time and should live with it as it is?

There's a load of information about central locking here: http://www.unofficialbmw.com/e30/electr ... g_faq.html
Brianmooore can talk you through testing it but you must be prepared to get your hands dirty and use a multimeter or test lamp.

Thanks Ben, the car is going to an auto spark on Thursday.
I'll let him look at it then take it from there.
