Whilst giving my 325i cab a service (oil, filters, sparkplugs), I decided to get my old compression tester out and see what my engine is like, as I hadn't done this before. Results below:

1. 165
2. 170
3. 165
4. 160
5. 170
6. 170

Trouble with doing things like this is that you start to get all paranoid! I'm a bit concerned about no. 4 being lower than the rest - should I be? Car drives ok and although there was a tiny bit of mayo on the filler cap when I looked today, I suspect this was purely down to moisture in the engine as it's been sat outside in the elements all winter and not driven much. After changing the oil and giving the car a run, there was no mayo. Exhaust is smoking a little bit, but nothing more than I'd expect for an old girl. She's done 92k.
