Are the suspension arms on a E30 325 I Sport Aluminium ??
My brother lives in South Africa and drives a E30 325 I Sport and his has Aluminium suspension arms.

his SA sport may well be an Is Evo they also have Aluminium body Panels :D

tourings got these fitted in the factory, over here too and M3's ?

most UK cars that had worn Alu front arms have been replaced with steel types due to the expense,

Only models sold in the UK with aluminium front control arms were the M3 and 325 touring.
Advantage is the lower unsprung weight.

Yes.

Less weight for the suspension to deal with and for the engine to move around.

Because BMW SA was allowed to spec-up certain models to make up for models that were not imported into the country.

I suspect that most remaining 325i Tourings dont still have alloy wishbones fitted as you can't really replace the balljoints when they wear out and they were over £200 a side last time I asked :eek:

I agree, mine has steel and so did the one before.
But hey, they're still available if you're feeling rich.

I've got 1 Alli one! I was wondering about this the other week when I was getting the missus to feel the weight difference... You can guess, she couldnt care less whilst trying to pull me out the unit to go shopping :mad:

My 91, 325 Touring still has both Alloy wishones after 231K miles.

I cannot afford to buy new alloy ones and will be miffed if I have to replace them for the next MOT though.
