What an awefully long topic for a question that is fairly simple, some strange off topic answers to do with legality :? . I asked this question many months ago, and i think Karen informed me the best way is to drop the propshaft. Wouldn't like to do 30 miles with the engine effectively idling, over heating comes to mind.

So basically take the prop off at the back and i think you should be able to hang it up somewhere-securely mind, then probs solved i think. As mentioned by someone else in the thread.

just found the tread and read through it, personaly i will never let a tow truck close to my car unless its a flat bed truck. but if you really have no choice or access to a flat bed the manual says:
Cars with auto trans:
Key position in 1 (so brake lights, turn indicators, horn and wipers are working)
Selector lever at N
max towing speed 50km/h
max towing distance 50km

to tow the car for greater distances , add 1 ltr of ATF to the transmission or remove the propeller shaft.

PS: remember to reduce fluid level afterwards

not read all the thread but i can say for cirtian this

IT IS NOT LEGAL TO TOW A CAR ON A TOW ROPE OR BAR WITHOUT THE CAR BEING TOWED BEING INSURED IF THEIR IS A PERSON IN THE CAR BEING TOWED

phone ur local police station if u dont belive the ppl here they will say the same thing, it changes it from being a trailer to being somthing else if their is some one in the 2nd car steering and breaking,

Fair enough, the guy who'll be in the towed car is fully comp on his and so is insured 3rd party on any other car anyway :thumb:

I thought so too but having read through the policy documents it doesn't state or imply this :)
