hi ive got a 325i e30 g reg and i have had the car off the road for a year have just plugged the abs sensors back in as i had the front valance off and the light has stayed on tryed locking wheels up down road but no difference just wounding what the best way of testing them is, abs was fine before i took it off road all i have done is disconnect a sensor wire and plug it back in.

If it's on all the time after starting then it wouldn't necessarily be a sensor, usually sensors put the light on once the car moves, you could try the ABS relay above the glovebox (if it has one), plenty of threads regarding how to inspect, test and even repair, but I would just replace it if found to be the fault.

ok then may try taping a the relays my be stuck where its been sitting for a yeah cheers for help

+1 the relay especially if it has been jump/boost started, the overvoltage can trip the internal fuse.

oh that may explane it as i had the booster pack on it at work as battery was low cheers for help will check relay to day

Costly mistake! These things are an absolute menace on modern cars.
Will almost certainly be that the 'relay' has sacrificed its life, doing what it should.

Can anyone tell me the location of the abs relay as the pics I see on google said it on top of the abs ecu but on mine it isn't I've got to orange relay behind it and a blue one to the left of it. I was looking for a relay with a metal outer casing Is that right

It's to the right of the ABS ECU, clipped to the metalwork that holds the glove box latch.
Note that later models don't have this relay.

Ok I did have a look this morning mine is a g reg and I couldn't see it any ideas on what it could be if I haven't got the relay cheers for help

right had a better look after work took glove box out and defo havent got that relay i have also tested the sensors with a multi meter and they seam to be fine, im a bit stuck could it now be the pump or the abs ecu.
