Just started up my car and the gauges, bar the speedo, has packed up - no temp, no fuel, no revs. The revs do register for a couple of secOnds then dies. Any ideas chaps?

?!?! Don't think a battery should have anything to do with the rev counter? :?

nut behind the cluster (earth i think) probably not tight enough, been advised about this since my temp guage doesn't work anymore.

There is a couple of reasons:
1. the battery djsimmy is on about are the ones inside the gauge itself on the SI Board.
2. a fuse has blown. Check fuse 10 and 21.
3. there is a reverse wire under the gear gator, lift this up and check that it hasn't split and is grounding of the chassis. If so, you'll need to get this fixed, temporaily put wire insulation around it.
4. The SI board is Kaput.

Hope that helps

It went because the wiring thru the rubber shift gator is touching the cars metal. This wiring passes under the car to the right side of the transmission to the reverse lights switch screwed into the side of the trans. The wiring should be secured in clips but usually is not if the transmission have ever been removed. it wont blow again till you use reverse and the wiring is just in the right spot.
