ok so my 3.91 diff on my 325 shit the bed last night, with two shattered spider gears.
now im impatient and do have a small case 4.27 diff sitting in my garage, and im thinking about swapping the flanges over(straight swap?) and just sticking this on until another proper ratio one comes up.
is this a silly idea?
bad news im comtemplating this diff swap?

Medium case diffs have thin flanges and small case one's have thick flanges...
Your 4.27 will fit, will render first gear redundant and perhaps second as well!
Do not consider it a permenant fix, though, the bigger engines eat small diffs as a mid-morning snack.
