the steering on my 325 feels really vague.
its running 15bbs wheels off a sport with new tyres, lowered around 50mm.
its fine for normal driving but i have no confidence in the front end if i try and push it a bit.
can you buy a off the shelf quickrack?
ive heard about using the e36 rack but am not sure what other parts are needed.

You can use E36 steering rack but it sounds like there's something that needs fixing on your car. Track rods ends worn? Tie rod joints worn? Wishbone bushes worn? There are many other things to consider in maintenance before 'upgrading'.

50mm is way too much to lower an E30. 40mm is the maximum to retain any decent handling characteristics.
