RUST."ARRRGH"

i have a small rust hole on my n/s quarter panel,just behind p/s door.it is situated just at the front of the black metal rail under the rear quarterlight .i have 2 remove this rail 2 access the hole.it is about the size of a 5p piece.my query is do u have 2 remove the glass as well,because the glass seems to move when i try to force the rail up.(318is with shadowline trim).any advice would be really appreciated.sorry no pics.
