Hi hope you can help. Currently trying to get the engine on my 325i Touring Auto (H Plate) alive again. Its turns over but nothing there.

Now there are 2 fuel hoses at the front of the engine, one which connects to the fuel regualtor, which i understand is the fuel return hose. The other is directly below this, but i dont know where it goes. Any ideas? Prev owner said he wasn't sure he put them back on round the right way, so i have to check they haven't been mixed around.

I have managed to get the fuel pump working, by replacing it so now I can hear it working, but allthough i have a spark from the plugs and fuel pump sound, it wont fire up.

Once i work out these hoses are correct I will check that the pump it pumping out fuel, then check fuel is getting to the injectors, then the injector wiring. then i'll probally push the car in a river lol

One fuel hose is the feed, other is the return,as you have said, the return goes to the FPR.There seem to be two patterns of fuel rail, some have the inlet at the front, some at the back.
With the pump running, you should have fuel squirting out of the feed...
