How bad is the oil contamination in the water and are we talking M20B25 engine?
The heads on these are prone to cracking in the cam bearing journals.
If it is the 2.5, then before anyone dismantles anything, get the cooling system up to pressure and take the rocker cover off.
Carefully watch the rear two cam bearings for little drops of water emerging.
Be carefull the rocker shaft lock plate at the front of the engine doesn't work loose while doing this.

could do it your self for less....

personaly id take the head off, have it machined polished, ported, skimmed and preasure tested for Ԛ£250 and spend the Ԛ£100 on parts for the head gasket replacement.

i can get a train to work though but can u live with out your car?

At least make sure any mechanic who looks at it is aware that these heads commonly crack ib the cam bearings.
