Head Rebuild

Hi,

I have got a head that was skimmed and i need to rebuild, unfortunately the valves I got with it were not labelled to say which cylinder they came out of. The valve guides and valves all look ok but i dont know which cylinder each valve came from.

They say you should put valves back in where they came from, what would happen if i put them in the wrong guide? Is there any was I can work out where they came from or should I get new valves?
