Whats the best choice if I were to go with a non-sport 328i E36 M52&gearbox?

I will go down to santa-pod/track days once or twice a year but nothing super serious?

Which cars have a suitable LSD and how do I identify if the diff is actually an LSD/correct ratio (incase it's been swapped)?

They normally have a metal tag attached to the diff, and it'll have the number of the ration with an "S" with it.
Or if its on the car, go out and wheelspin it, if it leaves a number 11 on the road it's a slipper, or jack the rear of the car up and spin one wheel, if they both spin in the same direction it's a slipper(LSD)

So just to make it clear I should be looking for an LSD which is sub 3.5 for an M52?

Also for cruizing and fast road what lock up should I be looking for, 10/20/30/40%?
