it was easy ...so long as you have the input plugs and loom for the seats..if you don't you have to wire up the seats live input to a source and then connect the earths...I took my live from the cigar lighter through an in-line fuse (in the centre console) and split it to both sides under the carpet

which seats are they

It will be interesting to see if you prefer them to the original sports seats......

I've got leather sports seats in my E46 touring and they are certainly not as comfortable as the ones in my E30 cabrioler...... I don't think I could drive to the south of France in the E46 and get out without a sore back, was never a problem in my E30. Possibly just personal preference?

got the cloth sport seats out of a e46 cab and find them just as comfortable as the old sport seats albeit they took a bit of getting right when setting them up ...did a couple of 300 mile round trips in the summer and had no probs and I didn't stick to the seat

Wasn't me, AFAIK, but, assuming we're not talking about seats with memory, and the switch(es) are all on the seat itself, then it should be just a simple live and earth.

I seem to recall that you were in correspondence with someone and mentioned it but I could be wrong ( I usually am) but i transgress, the seats I wired up had the memory functions et al but it can't be made to work ,,the rest of the functions do...The seats need to be mounted on spacers as you need extra clearance from the carpet . The e30 rails have the spacers attached.

The fit is TIGHT but it JUST works
