Probably covered a million times, but it's hard to search for this one, it gives me all the wrong results.

Anyway, my car is a '85 320i, I have to change both front and rear bumper, front lip and right rear light. So I was thinking to upgrading to facelift bumpers and lamps.
What kind of work is required to fit these and what would I need?

Cheers.

THe other question I have concerns my ignition timing/distributor, it's been horrible the last couple of days.
The car has no power under load, it only generates power on very small load/downhill. Both hot and cold. It bangs on both intake and exhaust. I checked for vacuum leaks from the dizzy, there aren't any. I disconnected a small valve going into the distributor and it behaves exactly the same with it disconnected. Any clues to what's going on?

Thanks. :)

Just to bump this up. :)

The bumper thingy is a bit urgent, I got a good price and would like to get it over with before the guy sells elsewhere. :)

Fair amount of work to upgrade chrome to plastic bumpers.

At the front you will need new front valance

At the back you'll need to modify the rear bumper as the rear arches are a different shape on your chromie. To fit facelift rear lights you either need to replace or modify the back panel, and modify the rear wings and paint. Overall not worth it!

Your chromie also has a different rear lower valence, which will always look different to a facelift model.

frotn is realitivly east, just lots of bolt on parts, rear bumper is doable but the rear lights would mean welding in a new rear pannel and valance
