I have a m52 engine almost ready to drop into my car and have a m50 inlet manifold to give it a little power boost.

My question is will the inlet bolt on as a direct replacement? Do i use the 2.8 throttle body or the 2.5 one?

A wee Pm to Ste will clarify who does the manifold kit, but it says that the M50 TB is the same size so use that one...

hope this helps :D

You dont need a 'kit' you either bin the oil separator or get a couple of T's and 90° elbows to plumb it back in.
2.5 throttle body is the best to use as it fits properly and is neater

Wow, I didn't think the difference was that much! How does the M50 manifold ports match upto the M52's? Woudl the M52 head benifit from further porting?

Would it be advised to keep it or bin it?

you can't use the 328i ITB straight on a 325i manifold as you'll have two o-rings on top of each other. sliver of ally works OK though. they're the same bore, people who use 328i ITBs on adapter plates are guys with ASC on e36s and 39s. I would (and have) use the 325i throttle body.

On my old 2.8 I used an M50B25 cam cover and breather setup, it did (still does) pull more oil through to the induction than a 2.5 does, if you can live with a bit of oil burning then bin it.
I will be reusing the separator on this latest engine and should be getting on to it later in the week so will let you know how I get on
